Our History
In 1981, Dr. Patricia Shema started East Gate Veterinary Clinic on Enterprise Road in Glenn Dale, Maryland. She later moved the practice to its present location and renamed it Glenn Dale Veterinary Clinic Patricia Shema, VMD, P.C. Dr. Shema continued to build a solid reputation for Glenn Dale Veterinary Clinic until her retirement in December 2005. Dr. Shema was determined to pass the baton to an experienced veterinarian with a passion and love for animals and who would continue to improve the legacy and reputation of the clinic. After an extensive and arduous search, Dr. Shema found the most fitting candidate in Dr. Daysi Felix-Slack.
Dr. Felix, with fifteen years of eclectic and enviable experience in small animal veterinary medicine, purchased the clinic from Dr. Shema in December 2005 and maintained the name Glenn Dale Veterinary Clinic.
Glenn Dale Veterinary Clinic continues to provide quality veterinary medical care from the heart. Dr. Felix and her staff are experienced professionals and provide exceptional medical and surgical services using state-of-the-art technology such as laser, sonogram and ultrasound equipment. Services and facilities are client friendly and the doctor and staff go out of their way to accommodate the client. The convenient pet drop off is a popular feature among clients. We continue to work with local animal rescue organizations to find foster and permanent homes for area dogs and cats. The clinic is continuing its work in the area providing the best care for the area's dogs and cats.
